Violet Los Angeles is a charming neighborhood Bistro and Cooking School in the heart of Westwood Village. Housed in a two-story historic brick building, Violet features a lush and romantic courtyard, chic bar and dining room, rooftop terrace, and a beautiful demonstration kitchen.
Reservations are highly recommended. We host numerous private events, from birthdays and weddings to corporate and team-building cooking classes, bar mitzvahs, and afternoon tea.

Celebrate Bastille Day with an intimate evening of French cuisine as Executive Chef Max Anderson presents a thoughtfully curated Chef's Table experience inspired by the flavors and traditions of France.
Hosted in Violet's beautiful upstairs Terrace, this exclusive dinner is limited to just 18 guests, creating an evening that feels both personal and unforgettable. Your experience begins with a seasonal amuse-bouche, followed by a three-course menu highlighting classic French technique with a modern touch.
A signature French 75 (or a non-alcoholic Fresh 75) is included with your reservation, and a curated selection of wines and additional cocktails will be available for purchase throughout the evening. Suggested wine pairings will also be featured on the menu.

Classic Comforts: Braised Short Ribs
Join us for an evening of elevated comfort and classic technique with Chef Kristen Shapero at Violet Cooking School.
This thoughtfully curated menu highlights some of our favorite dishes, beginning with Violet’s signature Mizou’s Salad, followed by deeply flavorful braised short ribs paired with a bright spring pea mash. Guests will also enjoy delicate caramelized onion tarts and finish on a sweet note with a beautifully spiced carrot cake.
This class blends chef-led demonstration with a hands-on element, offering a relaxed, engaging experience while you learn the techniques behind each dish. Along the way, you’ll pick up practical tips you can bring back to your own kitchen.
